| Insect And Snake Bites |
 |
Insect and snake bites can be dangerous if the animal is poisonous, or if the bite
wound becomes infected.
Signs
- Sudden pain or swelling on a certain body part.
- Excessive panting or salivation.
- Stinger or fang marks.
- Trouble breathing, unconsciousness.
Action to take for a snake bite
If you see fang marks, apply pressure. You can apply a tourniquet only tight enough to
allow the insertion of one finger beneath it. Leave the tourniquet in place, wrap in a
towels or blanket, go to the veterinarian immediately!
