| Heatstroke |
 |
Heatstroke is usually induced by confinement to a poorly ventilated cage or vehicle in
extreme heat, or excessive exercise with little water or shade in extreme heat.
Signs
- Rapid panting or gasping.
- Dry tongue, may become purplish blue.
- Skin is warm to touch.
- Loss of balance.
- Loss of consciousness.
Immediate action to take
- Cool immediately in sink or tub, or another source of running water.
- Offer water to drink.
- Immediately go to the veterinarian!
