Heatstroke
Heatstroke is usually induced by confinement to a poorly ventilated cage or vehicle in extreme heat, or excessive exercise with little water or shade in extreme heat.

Signs
  • Rapid panting or gasping.
  • Dry tongue, may become purplish blue.
  • Skin is warm to touch.
  • Loss of balance.
  • Loss of consciousness.
Immediate action to take
  1. Cool immediately in sink or tub, or another source of running water.
  2. Offer water to drink.
  3. Immediately go to the veterinarian!
